Background

High Motivation Training Academy has been involved with the delivery of recognised quality training since 1994.

Under the name of “Australasian Reiki Seminars”, Vicki Davies applied and was granted approval by VETEC for the delivery of recognised training in the field of Reiki.  At that time approval was for a period of one year because the Commission had recently approved changes in the recognition of training processes.  To maintain the VETEC recognition beyond that date in 1995, it was necessary to become registered to offer recognised short courses.
Programmes to formalise training were then written for the two short Reiki courses that were already being taught.  Reiki Level One was submitted to VETEC in August 1995, and on the 15th October, 1995, Austrasian Reiki Seminars became recognised as a registered training provider complying with the requirements of VETEC to deliver the recognised short course:  Reiki Level One.  On the 16th October 1995, Reiki Level Two was recognised.  Programmes were then written for the Advanced courses, which were subsequently recognised on the 15th February, 1996.  Over the next few years, a need was perceived to re-establish a formal Reiki Advanced Practitioner course and to write the programmes for the Masters / teacher training courses.

By May of 1997 these Reiki programmes were being taught in a number of countries as Reiki was being more and more accepted within the wider community.  It was decided to change the name of the RTO to “Reiki College International”.  The submissions for Advanced Practitioner, and the Diploma and Advanced Diploma of Reiki were submitted.  On the 1st July 1998 the Certificate III in Health, Advanced Practitioner Level was accredited.  On the 5th August 1998 the Diploma of Health, Junior Masters Training was accredited, and in early 1999, the Advanced Diploma in Health was accredited.

To keep pace with the growth of the industry, there arose a need for a further name change.  The name Reiki College International signified that the Registered Training Organisation only trained students for Reiki.  Discussions were underway with a Rebirther who desired to train under the RTO of Reiki College International.  A generic name was required, and thus was born High Motivation Training Academy.
